The year 2015 is the European year for development. This is the year when you can share global poverty overcoming success stories, to understand how poverty in distant countries is related to Lithuania and that there are still more challenges and how each of us can contribute to the development cooperation efforts.

In order to increase the number of journalists who are interested in development cooperation, the Eastern Europe Studies Centre (EESC) together with NNVBO Platform provides training for journalists. During the training we will investigate the links between poverty in developing countries and Lithuanian actualities. We will become acquainted with the key players in development policy and with the development actualities of this year also we will draw ideas how to present this interesting topic, where to look for information, contacts and ethical principles. Training courses will be held by communication professional - Martin Atkin - a former BBC journalist, programs manager who worked communication manager for Greenpeace and the Fair Trade Movement.
